Piracy of games

Well, not the buzzword is piracy, because peaople are stealing intelectual property like music, films, software. Well games are very specific software, that ofter requires very powerful hardware to run, as we all know – top end or near top end hardware costs a lot ( 4 core CPU with high quality motherboard and powerful graphics, or even several graphic cards will set you back a good amount of money) but at same time a lot of gamers just steal games they are playing, even review sites steal games to review those and post results. Well, if you are spending so much on hardware you cannot afford few euros/pounds/lats for a game, compared to hardware costs – games are cheep. Here in Latvia it is not so as few years ago – when you said – i have licensed game and i play on legit servers – and people are looking at you as a sam weirdo. But still. It is like – well, today i wont pay for bread in a shop, i am not in the mood.

And game developers – releasing their games for defferent prices in different regions, delayed releases – this way you are enforcing people to steal your game, because most of those gamers are fanatics who need this game right now, right here at the first day of the release.

Parents talk to your childern

Over the years there are  unending voice of, well, someone, who repeats over and over again – parents talk to your childer about <place anything here>. And anything implies sex, drugs, law, filesharing, relationships, religion etc. So, dear parents, just talk to your children, about everything important and not so important, talk to your children and to each other.

And now i wonder – why doctors lost the case? Because there are a lot of cristians who do not foolow their religious believes so clisely? Why? That women have believes on her ouw, why she can stand to his believes and others cannot, why others have to step down from their ideals and do whatever other person wishes? Maybe because other person is minority and cannot be offended? And why the other person is minority – because of her believes I suppose. Ask muslim to eat pork and sue him because he refused, and then i should win, because, look – there are miilions of muslims, and i am all alone, a miroty, that believes that muslims have to eat pork. If that would be me, i would countersue, that she asked me to do wrong in my opinion, it is as if i broke the law.

this suck, that lawsuit like that goes the way it did.

Nedēļas nogale

Nu tā, nedēļas nogale, tā par kuru es vēlējos padalīties iespaidos, sākās sestdienas vakarā, kad manās rokās iegula “magic drainpipe”, un sākās fotografēšanas trakums – pirmos reizi saskāros ar probēmu, ka jāmainā CF karte (2gb karte 350D fotoaparātā) jāmaina uz citu, jo pirmā ir pilna, bet vēlaizvien gribās iet un fotografēt. Vai kāda bilde arī sanāca, nezinum, Imac ir remontā, jo maita pārkarsa, ja visu, kas tai kastē iebūvēts, sāk izmantot nepiemērotā OS. Nu, ceru ka vismaz viena sanāca.

Tie, kas zina, kas tas ir var mani apsveikt, tie kas nezin, var pievienoties apsveicējiem.
Esmu ljoti priecīgs par pirkumu, lai gan tā dēļ nācās atlikt visus citus pirkumus, par kuriem bija domāts un sapņots, bet ierīce, domāju, atsver to visu.

Nu tā, šodien no viena drauga saņēmu ziņu, un tās saturs bija šāds:

GAME PUBLISHER UBISOFT is suing its disk manufacturing partner for millions of dollars over the leaking of the PC version of crusading action game Assassin’s Creed.

The title, which sold just 40,000 copies to PC gamers, was reportedly downloaded more than 700,000 times after an employee of the duplication house, Optical Experts, allegedly liberated a copy of the game’s code and posted it on the internet.

Ubisoft maintains that the OEM ignored strict security guidelines written into its manufacturing contract. The company tracked the first posting of the code to an unnamed Optical Experts employee and a copy of the game was later found in his home.

Ubisoft are also claiming that a bug – which was deliberately placed in the code prior to release for security reasons, and which caused pirated copies of the game to crash – lead to negative reviews of the game which further eroded sales and damaged the company’s reputation.

Rezumējums – kretīni nenopērk spēli un tad vēl saraksta pārskatus par spēli, lai gan lieto piratizētu versiju, kas kā izrādās ir speciāli salauzta. Tā tik turēt Ubisoft. Diemžēl uzņemuma reputācija no tā ir cietusu, jo cik saprotu ļoti daudzi no pārskatu veidotājiem ir ļoti nedraudzigi izteikušies par spēli un to neviens nepērk, un iespējams ka arī nepirks citas spēles, jo šī taču bija tik ļoti nespēlējama. Cerams ka “krutie krānus staipītāji” spēļu lapās arī dabūs pa biksēm, tāpēc ka tie lieto pirātiskus produktus lai pelnītu naudiņas.

Atvaļinājums ir beidzies, lai sākas atvaļinājums

Nu tā 2 nedēļas bez rūpēm, ar atpūtu ir pagājušas veiksmīgi – esmu izbraukājies ar velosipēdu, nedaudz iededzis saulē, paklausījies pasaulē atzītus mūziķus un pakāpelējis “Mežakaķī” un bijis kino.

Interesanti, ka kā agrāk – vienu dienu aktīvi darbojos, otro – patmīlīgi laiskojos, protams, izņēmums ir divu dienu pasākumi. Bet tā vai tā – bija jāatpūšas no atpūtas. Hmm..
